Well.. been a long time I don't go blogging. What's up folks? I've just done a camp held by my seniors at Wonosalam, Jombang. So now I'm gonna tell you what had happened. Before I begin, jump over to the next post any time if you get bored while reading this post because it's just too principal.
Here we go! Me and 122 my friends (actually only 106 pupils can go) had a schedule for a camp on January, 17-19 2011 which called Envication (Enviro Dedication) 2012. Why is it called 'Enviro Dedication'? Because It's a camp followed by Environmental Engineering student (freshmen) dedicated to surrounding society, especially people at Desa Sambirejo, Wonosalam, Jombang.
Day 1
I came at campus at 6 o'clock in the morning with carrier bag on my back and a small fabric purse in my hand. After checking all we have to bring, we departed approximately at 9 by military truck. We arrived there at 12 and then continued to take dzuhur prayer. Moreover we also had our small lunch with meals we bring. Hereafter there was an opening from headman of Sambirejo giving a greet to us (Environmental Engineering ITS team) and then it's continued with distribution of compost reaction for each family in the village for free. Me and my friends were divided into many groups consist of 3 pupils and 1 senior each group. The group came to a family and explained how to use the reactor for composting. Some of them already knew, the rest was not. Some of my friends also told me that during their visit they were given many fruits like durians, rambutans, and bananas by the family they visit. The villager were gracious. We just had some difficulties with language they spoke because we didn't understand with some 'bahasa jawa alus'. From this activity, we can study how to socialize with the society, care for others, increase our soft skill, and coordinate in a team.
After doing those society service, we went to our camp ground, called Guardian Jungle Park, and had a short rest. The ground is quiet large and its structure is flat. The bathroom near our tent is also quite good for such a camp. I think that's a forest / camp ground which has been designed special for camping. It's like artificial ground. Its scenery is picturesque and the river is marvelous, but its air is not too cold for a camp. On the first day of our camp we also had a sharing time with our Backwash talked about our last activity and had a cup of tea. At 9 pm we went sleep. We had 7 hours time of sleep. Can you imagine that?
Day 2
We woke up at 4 am, had subuh prayer, and did physical exercise together. There's something special for our breakfast, it was we had to cook our meal by ourselves. The committee only served cooked rice, stove, pot, and LPG gas. So we cooked instant noodles then. They only gave us 3 hours to cook, eat, and clean the stuff. It was exhausting yet gratifying. The main schedule that day was we divided into many groups consist of 9 - 10 pupils each group. Then we had to reach 3 different places where my seniors were waiting for, to met them up, and got so many experiences and advices from what they talked about. For the first stop we learned about how we know ourselves and the essence of knowing the meaning of our camp's name. I got named Gutter at that time. It's like a sewer that functions as a balm for the flow. What I got from this stop is we can use our capabilities to cover the shortcomings of others. The second stop is about leadership and the true togetherness. I'm not gonna tell you what has happened in this post. You'll guess. In the last stop we discussed about our expectations and contribution at campus internally and externally.
The rest of the day we just stayed at our tent, eating, chatting, sleeping, some of us took a bath, and other activities that made us feel togetherness, humility, and happiness. Sadly, rain was falling during our break time in the evening so that some of our goods got wet. We went sleep at 7.30 pm.
Day 3
Approximately at 2.30 we woke up. With sleepy face we went into the yard to line up. That was seniority time. We support each other. We've chosen new leader. We sang together vigorously. We are all up now. I want it lasted forever. I realize there's no word such forever, but at least until we find our destiny. Camp ended with closing ceremony at 7 am. We had packed our stuff and went back to the town at 9 am by military truck again. We had noddles for breakfast again!! I'd rather stay starving than have to eat it in two days. By the way, that was the most enjoyable camp I ever had, very pleasant.
*ps: We didn't bring any watch or hand phone during the camp. So I only guess the exact time is.
what an unforgettable moment with enviro11 :)
